Real Wedding: The One Where Theresa & Mikhail Got Married

When Theresa and Michael envisioned their dream wedding, they wanted it to be more than just an event; they wanted it to be an experience. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Villa Loriana in San Luis Obispo, could their special day be any more magical?

Their journey to this enchanting day wasn't without its hurdles. Initially working with a large online retailer, they faced a sudden roadblock when their designated designer left the company and they were unable to reach anyone about their in-progress work.  Talk about needing to pivot! Enter Rachell Rae Designs, riding to the rescue like a true superhero. With creativity and precision, Rachell brought their vision to life.

Theresa's mother longed for a classic invitation suite and the bride envisioned something uniquely theirs, complete with quirky touches. Rachell worked her magic, infusing the traditional with touches of fun. Using her print background and the unagi she brings to every project, Rachell was able to correct the colors from the online-ordered save-the-dates to match Theresa’s vision for the invitation suite.

The pièce de résistance was the recreation of the Central Perk coffee shop from the beloved TV show "Friends." With an outdoor lounge as their canvas, Rachell designed a clear acrylic hanging piece featuring the iconic customized logo, immortalizing Theresa and Michael's names in the Friends universe. The Friends color palette wove through the wedding seamlessly. From bridesmaids' dresses to the vibrant florals and lounge furniture, every element reflected the show's distinct charm in an elegant and sophisticated manner.

A themed dessert bar paid homage to the show's signature font, while a heartfelt "thank you" message harked back to the invitation inclusion and the Central Perk lounge, leaving guests with a sweet taste of nostalgia.

Theresa and Michael's wedding at Villa Loriana in San Luis Obispo was a testament to the power of creativity and teamwork. It showcased that even in the face of unexpected challenges, a dream wedding can come to life, and sometimes, it's the detours that lead to the most beautiful destinations. Our fondest congratulations to this wonderful couple—they truly are each other's lobsters!
