A Classic Meets Colorful Wedding in Edna Valley
Get ready to dive into the Cinco de Mayo wedding of Kyle + Natalie, where classic met colorful in an event that was uniquely theirs. At Rachell Rae Designs, we were thrilled to be part of the occasion, crafting designs that blended timeless sophistication with the vibrant spirit of love. Their San Luis Obispo wedding was a mix of crisp black and white, which served as the background, with an explosion of colorful flowers. Our signage package seamlessly blended this classic-meets-fun theme, setting the stage for a celebration that was both elegant and exuberant!
Rachell is a big believer that first impressions set the tone and get guests excited about attending a special occasion, and this wedding made an impact from the first moment! Guests were ushered into the Edna Valley private estate event by our crisp black-and-white welcome sign. Featuring both vertical and horizontal text in a sleek sans-serif font, the sign perfectly set the tone for the clean and contemporary aesthetic that served as the wedding’s design foundation. Surrounded by an explosion of the most colorful spring flowers sculpted into lush and textural arrangements by Elegant Details Floral & Event Design, guests knew they were in for something unique and beautiful as soon as they arrived!
Guiding the guests between the two private estates that hosted the ceremony and reception was a custom directional sign. We used a design technique that created a watercolor-like effect over photographs of the hosting homes. Using the photographs as a base kept the design on the more contemporary side, in keeping with the overall aesthetic of the event, while still conveying important visual information to guests.
On the dinner tables, our menu cards—personalized with guest names—showcased the delicious offerings of the day, making them both stylish and functional and adding a graphic design element to the white-on-white settings. In addition to the flowers, the evening’s other colorful signature element was also included on the tables: iconic goblets from the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo in every color of the rainbow. These goblets not only held the toasts but also served as memorable wedding favors, giving guests a colorful piece of the celebration to take home. Our custom bar signs highlighted Cinco de Mayo themed cocktails and drinks and helped get the party started!
Kyle + Natalie’s wedding showcased how classic meets colorful can be brought together in a seamless, thoughtful design that leaves plenty of room for personal touches. Here's to a love story as classic as black and white and as vibrant as Spring flowers!
