A Boho Baby Shower at Paso’s Rava Wines
When one of our own has something big to celebrate we tend to pull out all the stops, so when Ally, owner of AlphaLit Central Coast, asked us to create the paper goods for her baby shower, we were tickled pink! And monochromatic pink in shades from blush to peach is exactly where we went with this boho rainbow collection that welcomed Baby Blake to the world. Held at Rava Wines in Paso Robles, this shower saw us creating some of our sweetest designs yet!
First, Rachell designed three versions of the rainbow in order to create visual interest among the different pieces of the invitation suite, welcome sign, place cards, games, and thank you notes. Attaching silky, cream colored tassels to the personalized place cards emphasized the boho feel and created a unique piece for guests to take as keepsakes.
Collaborating with other vendors is always a highlight of our creative process when it happens, and next we had several opportunities to work with other vendors on some really fun design elements. We placed the cheerful welcome sign in a gold stand from Inspired Events Collective to keep the warm tones going and SLO Co Balloons created an exuberant balloon display that welcomed guests and set the tone for the joyful celebration to come. Usually, creating menus is the extent of our collaboration with our catering colleagues, which makes this next co-creation even more fun! Rachell worked with The Wooden Spoon to recreate the monochromatic rainbow design in frosting to create a cake that looked almost too good to cut into! But she didn’t stop there—she also rendered the signature rainbow design in the right size and specifications so that BoyMama Bakes could reproduce it in edible ink on individual macarons. (Are we hoping custom macarons and cakes become the next big thing and just casually mentioning that we’re available anytime for quality control testing? Yes, yes we are!)
Once guests had enjoyed a boho-style picnic alongside Rava Wine’s stunning pond, it was time for that other baby shower classic—games. Rachell created themed printed goods for the “Don’t Say Baby” and “What’s That Baby Food” activities that guests enjoyed with their charcuterie and bubbly.
The final piece Rachell created was the Thank You notes—featuring the rainbow, of course. We love the idea of bringing guests back to a beautiful celebration by tying the thank yous to the overall design. And we’d like to include our own thank you to Ally and our other colleagues who made this day such a joy to work on! Congratulations, Ally, and welcome to the world, Baby Blake!
